WOMEN'S COUNCIL OF GREATER DETROIT
The Women's Council of Greater Detroit is a local chapter in the Women's Council of The National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc.(NAREB®). Our mission is focused on the housing and socio-economic concerns of unserved and underserved communities. We provide financial literacy, community advocacy and generational wealth building though homeownership. We further evaluate the standards of women and men in the real estate industry by encouraging leadership, collaboration, education and the exchange of information through group learning techniques and networking. We encourage and support other organizations that are on the same path and therefore strongly welcome collaboration; hence our current theme, "Successful Women Don't Compete, They Collaborate".

The National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB®) was formed in 1947 making it the oldest minority professional trade organization in the country! The association has eight major Professional Affiliations. Below is just just the beginning benchmark to provide more information and further your understanding of "Who We Are & What We Do".

NAREB® was formed in 1947 by African American real estate professionals out of a need to secure the right to equal housing opportunities, regardless of race, creed or color. For more than 65 years, NAREB has participated in meaningful legal challenges and has supported legislative initiatives that ensure the availability of fair and affordable housing for all Americans. NAREB members are referred to as REALTIST® and represent all professional Disciplines within the real estate arena: Brokers, Agents, Appraisers, Attorneys, Insurance & Home Warranty Representatives, Inspectors, Investors, Insurance, Instructors/Trainers, Title & Escrow - All are Welcome to Join Our Charge in "Democracy in Housing"

WCNAREB (Affiliate of NAREB)
The Women's Council of NAREB is a national affiliate of NAREB and boast as its largest affiliate. As an affiliate of NAREB, the Women’s Council contributes to the growth and professional enhancement of its members and the communities we serve.
Our programs include but are not limited to Financial Literacy Education for the public, Educational Scholarships for the youth, Leadership Designations for our members to include the exchange of ideas through networking and collaboration. Our focus is the building of generational wealth through financial literacy and homeownership.

GDRA (Local Chapter of NAREB)
The Greater Detroit REALTIST® Association (GDRA) is a local chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) ratified on February 19, 2015 at the 68th NAREB Mid-Winter Conference in Tampa, Florida. As REALTIST® we promote the highest standards of professional integrity and follow a strict code of real estate industry ethics. As REALTISTS®, we have a special charge in making certain that communities of color and under-served communities are treated with dignity and respect. We are "Guardians of our Communities" hence our mantra "Democracy in Housing".
